I know this is something completely different to what I usually do, but I think you guys will like this so please bare with me.
As you know, I love YouTube. It's everything to me. I love watching it and creators on it. So, I took the chance and emailed a few YouTubers in regards to an interview...
And I got nothing back for quite a while.
Until one channel decided to take the chance.
The Rayhart Twins.

Now, I've mentioned these guys before previously on my blog (if you don't remember that you need to read My Favourites - Month Two). They're a smaller channel, but they are quickly coming on the rise to being one of the greatest duo channels on YouTube. But, they have a long way to go.
But, for myself personally, I wanted to know more about them and what they wanted to achieve.
So, I sat down with Robert Rayhart and talked about the journey he has taken into creating content on YouTube.

1. How did you feel when you received the email about doing an interview for my blog?
When I at first got the email, I was just like, I read it and I just was like ‘I should probably talk to Blake about it’ you know? See how he feels. I clicked on your blog and I was like ‘oh this is actually really well done and stuff.’ I went through one of your posts and I thought ‘yeah, this is pretty cool’. I also recognised you from Twitter as well when I saw your name. But when we saw the email we were both like ‘yeah we really want to do this’ but we both work 2 jobs 6 days a week so it’s hard to find time to do things because if I’m at home, Blake’s working and vies versa and the time we do get together is filming YouTube videos.
2. What was it like for you guys growing up? How was high school for you guys?
I love this question! Growing up, Blake and I were really shy. Growing up I didn’t really talk that much. I wasn’t awkward or anything, I just didn’t really talk unless spoken to. It’s not that I was awkward or afraid to talk, we were both just that way. That was all the way through high school. We had our small friend group and we just chilled.
3. What made you both want to start a YouTube channel?
We’ve always grown up making videos, we’ve made them since we were 12. We used our mom’s camera, we never put them anywhere, but we just loved making them. I had a YouTube channel and my first ever video was so cringe and has been put on private but hopefully we’ll make a video about reacting to old videos soon.
4. What are you hoping to achieve with YouTube?
Blake and I talk about this all the time that it’s amazing and great. But our main goal is to hit 1,000,000 subscribers which will be a big moment for us, that’s our main goal. We want to grow as YouTubers but also on Social Media as a whole. We want to be known across all of the platforms known as Social Media Influencers not just YouTubers.
5. How close are you with your subscribers?
Honestly, I’d say we’re pretty close. I don’t follow every fan account on Twitter and stuff, but I read all of the messages, all the posts and stuff like that. I’m usually pretty good at responding back to direct messages but I don’t always hold a conversation well because I’m bad at messaging and texting back. But it’s crazy to think that when we do our videos we always say ‘hey guys’ and when we did our first video we were like ‘who are we talking to?’ and now it’s cool to think that when we’re recording we have an audience.
6. What makes you different from all the other YouTube channels?
This is a question we ask ourselves everyday. It’s hard to be big on YouTube because everything’s been kind of done already. The most obvious answer I can say is that it’s us being twins and that’s not very common. Like, there’s twin YouTubers but they aren’t as big as normal YouTubers. A lot of twin YouTube channels have somewhat a kid friendly/Disney vibe to them and we try to keep a lot of realness to it and be ourselves and stay being funny with some cussing in it too.
7. Where would you love to travel to if you had the opportunity to be invited and attend a YouTube Convention? (Vidcon, Playlist etc.)
That’s a good one (chuckles), I honestly haven’t put too much thought into it. I’m not sure which YouTube convention, but I would love to travel to France. I have a friend who lives there who tells me “it’s not that great” but to her it’s probably not that great because she lives there, but I would love to go there and Blake too.
8. What kind of cultures would like to experience if you had the opportunity to travel? (Christmas in the summer in Australia etc.)
To be honest, Blake and I live in Florida, so we’ve never had a white Christmas. I’ve seen snow only once in my life. Our Christmas’ are usually like 80-90 (26c-32c for you Australians/Europeans) so anywhere with heavy snow is where I would love to go. I’ve never experienced a real Christmas with real snow.
9. Who inspires you the most? Where do you draw your inspiration from?
On an everyday basis our viewers want to know who specifically we get our inspiration from. Honestly it’s a majority of people and this might sound odd but when we see people in a position we want to be in that’s what motivates us and inspires us. We could watch for example a Logan Paul video and think “wow, that looks dope as hell." I want to be there and then I record a video. I see other people doing cool stuff on YouTube and other social media platforms being Social Media Influencers and I’m like “that’s what I want to do.”
10. If you could give your younger self any advice what would it be?
To start immediately. Don’t wait until you’re 19-20 years old, just start immediately. Just go now.
Just add on how awesome Robert Rayhart is, we had a 20-minute conversation after the interview talking about life, YouTube and of course time zones. I want to also quickly thank Robert (and Blake even though he was asleep) for letting me interview them. I’ve emailed 15+ YouTubers and received nothing back, except from these guys. If you have a YouTube account, make sure to subscribe to these guys because they will be going places with a good mind set and attitude.
Which brings me onto my next announcement.
Some of you may know this already, some of you who do read my blogs have no clue what I’m about to say, but, here goes nothing.
I have officially started a YouTube channel.
Many of you have asked and encouraged me to pursue it (because you thought I’d be good or something idk) and I finally have.
Of course, I am scared that I’ll be made fun of because I’m doing something that is completely out there, the fact I’m in a small town too which makes it even weirder and the fact I’ll get bullied. But, you know what I say to the people who will make fun of me and think it’s stupid?
Sod off.
I’m ready to see where this new chapter of my journey takes me. If you want to see me as well as reading my random thoughts, please go and subscribe my YouTube channel, it would mean a lot.
To all that have so far read my blogs and gave the link a chance, thank you. You guys are the reason I still write. Thank you for bringing the old Zee back.
Until next time. x
