Let's Talk About...Favourites! Month One

So, another thing I've wanted to discuss and talk about is songs, musicians, social media creators, movies and T.V shows, all of my favourite things. I have a very eventful life if you couldn't tell already. So here's a list of my favourite things this month!
T.V SHOW
So this week, my favourite show that I honestly can't get enough of is 'Riverdale'!
Of course they've only had one season of the show, but honestly I'm obsessed with it. Basically the T.V show is based of the old time favourite Archie Comics with the characters such as Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch). The first season is basically about the murder of Jason Blossom, Cheryl's twin brother. Honestly some people think its far fetched but I personally love it. It's got all the good things I like in a show. Some episodes drag, but it leaves you on the edge of your seat. I would 100% recommend watching it (if you have Netflix, if not, borrow someone else's like I did.) Also to add, for me personally, I'm an Archie girl, and I'm not ashamed.
MOVIE
Okay, so I'm obsessed with any kind of movies, unless they're about clowns (yes, I am referring to 'IT' and no, I won't be seeing the second film) but usually I'm pretty good with most genres. For me this month however, my favourite movie hands down has to be 'The Breakfast Club'.
This film is all about Saturday detention with 5 students; John, the criminal, Andrew the athlete, Claire the princess, Allison the basketcase and Brian the brain. Pretty much they all have nothing in common expect Saturday detention and discovering why each of them are in there in the first place. Throughout the movie there are many surprises, hilarious and deep emotional scenes where the characters begin to understand each other. A character who I resonate with the most has got to be hands down Allison, but my favourite is definitely John (who doesn't love a bad boy?). If you're into the old, classic movies, this is a must watch on a Friday night.
SONG
Music is a massive part of my life, it's what I enjoy the most. Any genre is good music for me (yes, even country). However, my favourite song for this month is 'Which Will' by Nick Drake from his album 'Pink Moon'.
This alternative artist's whole album is pretty amazing, but my favourite song from this album and this month is his song 'Which Will'. The guitar based song was created in 1972, it has a gentle melody of guitar plucking with some incredible vocals from Nick Drake himself. I honestly recommend to give this man a listen; he is a genius in his own right and is soulful. Of course, if you're into dubstep or something with an electronic beat, this album isn't for you, but as they say, don't knock it till you try it.
ARTIST
I have a lot of favourite musicians, most are from this generation, some are from the past. But, for this month, my favourite artist is (no surprise) Shawn Mendes.
For many that know me, they know how I feel about this 19-year-old Canadian pop singer, but for those that don't, I've supported and loved this guy since 2013. He originally posted covers of songs on the social media app, Vine (RIP) and has since blown up to be one of the most well known artists of our generation. His lyrics are real and raw with songs including 'There's Nothing Holding Me Back', 'Mercy' and 'Stitches', his stage performance never fails to amaze crowds with millions of fans worldwide. I've had the opportunity of a life time to meet him face to face, but, I'll save that story for another time, maybe even another post on here, but for now I'll be leaving you hanging. My bad.
SOCIAL MEDIA CREATOR
Now, if any of you are like me in anyway, I love Youtube. I've watched Youtube for the past 5 years and have enjoyed finding new creators and enjoying the content they create. For this week however, one Youtuber has caught my eye and his name is Colby Brock.
Colby Brock has 527,965 subscribers on his Youtube account, 942,191 subscribers on his collab channel with his best friend Sam Golbach and over 610 k followers on Instagram. Colby's videos are a mixture of things such as exploring haunted and abandoned places, (illegally and almost getting caught every time by police or security), pranks on his roomates, staying overnight in many different places and reacting videos.
He has also created the Life Project with his best friend Sam, to create a safe environment for them and their followers to be able to be themselves and share ideas and create a positive atmosphere. I would be careful though, the minute you start watching this guy, you'll never stop, my best girl friend figured that out quickly. Sorry girl.
